2012 – The last time the Waterloo Warriors won a home game before beating the York Lions 52-8 Saturday afternoon at Warrior Field. It was the first home victory for Waterloo since a 48-29 win over the Windsor Lancers on October 20, 2012. The Warriors success early on the season is in large part to the play of two twin freshman brothers. Kick returner and defensive back Tyrell Ford had eight punt returns for 264 yards and two touchdowns in Week One, while brother Tre stole the show in Week Two with 50 yards passing and 152 yards on the ground, accounting for three touchdowns Waterloo has the chance to move to 3-0 for the first time since 2007 when they host the Toronto Varsity Blues for their annual Black and Gold Day on Saturday, September 9 at 1pm.
10- OUA teams that remain undefeated in soccer through two weeks of action. The men's standings sees six teams tied atop the conference leaderboard, with Ryerson, Toronto and Guelph all sitting at 3-0-1 on the season. Carleton sits alone in third place in the East Division with a 2-0-2 record, while Brock and Western are tied in points with a identical 2-0-1 record in the West. The women's standings has four undefeated teams remaining. In the OUA East Division, the defending OUA champion UOIT Ridgeblacks sit second overall in the conference with a 3-0 record. Not far behind are the Queen's Gaels , who defeated Laurentian and Nipissing to open the season. Meanwhile in the West Division, the Guelph Gryphons stand atop the OUA with a 3-0-1 record, while the Waterloo Warriors sit second in the division with a 2-0-2 record, having already scored 14 goals this season.
28- The number of sacks through two games combined between rivals Carleton and Ottawa. The two teams in the nation's capital love getting after the quarterback, with the Ravens leading the nation with an astounding 16 sacks through two games, while the Gee-Gees are second in the country with 12 sacks. Carleton recorded nine sacks alone in their opening game of the season, which would still be good for third in the country as of today. Four other OUA teams crack the top five in this category, with Guelph sitting in third with nine sacks, Queen's one spot behind in fourth place with eight, and Western tied for fifth with six.
44.5 – The average number of points put up by the winning teams for men's and women's rugby this weekend. Four women's matches were contest over this past long weekend, with the winning teams putting up an average of 49.7 points. Brock led the way with an astonishing 82-0 victory, 32 points more than the next closest team, McMaster. Meanwhile, five men's games were played on the weekend, with a scoring average of 40.4 points for the winning squad. Queen's led the way with a 60-0 win over Trent, while Brock put up 49 in a victory over Waterloo.
0 – Goals allowed by fourth year goalkeeper Libby Brenneman of the Guelph Gryphons. The Baden, Ont native, who was just named the OUA Investors Group Athlete of the Week, is off to a solid start this season. After leading the nation last season with 10 clean sheets, she continues that trend this year. Brennenman has not allowd a goal in 270 minutes of action this season, while recording three shutouts and 12 saves.
7- Goals for Guelph striker Jace Kostopoulos this season. Kostopoulos, who last week was named the OUA Peak Performer, has accounted for 64% of the Gryphons tallies this season. He has one game-winning goal so far this season, while also sitting second in the league in shots this year with 16.
615 – Yards per game the Western Mustangs are averaging on offence. The Mustangs, always known for their explosive and dynamic offences, lead the OUA in 13 categories on the offensive side of the ball, including points per game, total offence, passing yards, rushing touchdowns, and 1st downs.
