Guelph's Jace Kostopoulos named OUA Peak Performer
BURLINGTON, Ont. - The following athlete has been named Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Peak Performer, presented by Investors Group, for the period ending August 29, 2016.
Jace Kosopoulos (Burlington, Ont.) - 3rd yr. - Guelph Gryphons - Soccer
The OUA Peak Performer for this week, presented by Investors Group, is third-year forward Jace Kotsopoulos of the Guelph Gryphons.
The Burlington, Ont. native scored four goals in his school's two contests this weekend against Windsor and Western. Kostopos, who is majoring in management economics and finance, came out on fire to start the 2017 OUA campaign.
Against the Lancers, Kostopoulos netted a hat trick, including the late winner in match were the Gryphons found themselves down 3-1 in the second half.
He began the season by finding the back of the net just 11 minutes into the contest. His second came of a penalty kick in the 65th minute before eight minuters later smashing in the winner. His ability to score quickly was on display against the Western Mustangs as well, putting the ball in the back of the net in the sixth minute.
