OTTAWA (CIS) – The McGill University Redmen and Brock University Badgers move to the top of the CIS national rankings this week in men's hockey and men's wrestling, respectively.
In other CIS sports, Saskatchewan (women's basketball), Ottawa (men's basketball), Guelph (women's hockey), UBC (women's swimming), Toronto (men's swimming), Alberta (women's volleyball), McMaster (men's volleyball) and Brock (women's wrestling) all hold on to their pole positions.
The hockey Redmen (14-2) return to No. 1 for the second time in three weeks following wins over UOIT and long-time rival Queen's. After topping last week's media poll, Saskatchewan (13-3) drops down to No. 4 behind McGill, Acadia (12-2-1) and Alberta (12-3-1).
In men's wrestling, the Badgers move up two positions to dethrone Alberta, which slides to second place in the new rankings.
NOTES: Following back-to-back losses to Ottawa and Carleton, reigning five-time CIS champion Windsor drops out of the women's basketball Top 10 for the first time in seven years. The Lancers (4-3) had been ranked nationally in 99 consecutive polls since the Oct. 28, 2008.
