Gaels' Shanks named OUA Peak Performer, presented by Investors Group

Burlington, Ont. – Kiah Shanks has been named Investors Group Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Peak Performer for the period ending September 9, 2018.

Shanks, a member of the Queen’s Gaels lacrosse team, not only takes home the Tricolour’s Female Athlete of the Week award, but also grabs the OUA spotlight as this week’s Peak Performer.

With the Gaels playing host to this weekend’s lacrosse action, Shanks had a standout performance in front of the home crowd. She helped lead her Gaels to a 3-0 record over the weekend, amassing 13 goals over those three contests. Among these offensive gems included a pair of five goal games on Saturday in an 18-0 win over York and a 15-4 victory over Brock.

In her team’s final game, Shanks netted three more goals in a 10-5 win over Western to secure the undefeated start to their season and put a cherry on top of her triumphant opening weekend.
