Returning to his hometown, Gerson Zamor led his RMC Paladins team to sabre gold just one month out from the OUA Men's Fencing Championship.
The fourth-year veteran showcased his quickness and agility throughout the competition, but particularly excelled when it mattered most in the gold medal bout. With first place on the line, Zamor scored clutch points for RMC, helping the Paladins sabre fencers win gold.
The captain for the RMC men's team as a whole – all three weapons – kept the Paladins fencers focused throughout the weekend, as RMC earned impressive finishes across the board: 1st in sabre; 3rd in epee; 4th in foil.
