The University of Toronto Varsity Blues captured their fourth OUA badminton title in program history this past weekend in Hamilton thanks in part to the strong play of first-year standout Rachel Honderich (Toronto, Ont.)
Honderich, a first-year kinesiology major, went undefeated over eight matches, winning four mixed doubles, three women's doubles and one women's singles match.
Following the championship, the Toronto, Ont. native was named both female MVP and rookie of the year honours.
Honderich, who was a two-time medalist at the 2015 Pan American Games this past summer in Toronto, was also named an OUA all-star for her efforts.
