Third-year veteran Sasha Obucina went 3-0 in the No. 1 singles position in leading the Varsity Blues men’s tennis team to a silver-medal finish at the OUA championships this past weekend.
BURLINGTON, Ont. – Sasha Obucina has been named Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Peak Performer of the Week, presented by Investors Group, for the period ending October 10th, 2017.

Third-year veteran Sasha Obucina went 3-0 in the No. 1 singles position in leading the Varsity Blues men’s tennis team to a silver-medal finish at the OUA championships this past weekend.
Obucina collected a flawless win vs. Brock in the school’s opening round match (6-0, 6-0) to help Toronto advance 7-0 into the semis. Matching up against the defending champion Mustangs, Obucina kept his winning streak going with a tough fought 7-6 (5), 6-2 victory, once again helping the team advance. In the finals, Obucina mustered the only point for UofT, earning a 6-1, 7-5 win over his Montreal Carabins opponent.
Capping off his successful weekend, Obucina also earned OUA All-Star honours.
