Despite playing regulation plus three extra halves, the Gryphons and the four-time defending Queen's Gaels remained tied, meaning a five-player, dropkick shootout would be used to determine a winner.
Perrin, a fourth-year history major, was the only player from either club to connect in both rounds of the shootout, splitting the uprights from 22-metres and 35-metres, respectively.
Not only was the Mississauga, Ont. native clutch on offence for the Gryphons, but defensively as well, as earlier in the match he made a huge goal line tackle to prevent the Gaels from scoring.
