Golden Hawks’ Williams Named OUA Peak Performer (Oct. 24)
BURLINGTON, Ont. – Rose Williams has been named Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Peak Performer of the Week, presented by Investors Group, for the period ending October 24th, 2017.
The host Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks may not have come away with a medal, but they certainly received a standout performance from Rose Williams.
In the Hawks quarterfinal match against Trent, the Elora, Ont. native recorded four goals and four assists to lift the purple and gold to victory (15-12) over Trent. In the semifinal tilt with Queen’s, Williams followed up with a pair of goals and assists in their 9-7 loss, before ending the tournament with another two goals in the bronze medal game.
When all was said and done, Williams played a role in nearly half of Laurier’s offensive output and was a key contributor to the school’s fourth place finish at the 2017 Championships.
