A spotless effort on the mats at the Ontario Junior Championships has earned McMaster’s Ben Zahra OUA Male Athlete of the Week honours.
BURLINGTON, Ont. – Ben Zahra has been named Investors Group Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Male Athlete of the Week, powered by 2XU, for the period ending January 30, 2018.

A spotless effort on the mats at the Ontario Junior Championships has earned McMaster’s Ben Zahra OUA Male Athlete of the Week honours.
The second-year wrestler continued his dominance at the provincial level, adding a junior gold medal to the senior gold he won in November by posting three clean wins at 79kg.
Zahra opened his day by pinning Team Impact's Baljot Mangat to move into the semifinal stage, where he beat Guelph's Simon Chaves 10-0. Similarly imperious in the final, the Marauder rolled past Brock's Max Budgey 11-0 to secure the divisional title.
Having won gold at 86kg at the Ontario Senior Provincial Championships in November, Zahra now stands as a defending champion at two separate weight classes and both eligible age divisions in Ontario.
